His lips were a ghastly white and his face was a sickly yellow.The areas under his eyes were dark purple and he had a look of sheer terror on his face.He mumbled inaudibly as the foam came out of his nose and mouth.
"See? I told you he was possesed! Please sir, do something to help him!"I wailed, tugging desperately at the priest's robes.
The priest brushed my hand away, his eyes fixed on my son."By my experience he does not look possesed.You better take him to the hospital right away."
It took four strong men and a lot of strenght to sedate my son, who had now realised we were going to take him to a place he disliked the most...the hospital.He had struggled frantically and injured two of the four paramedics the hospital sent.
"Why him? Why must it happen to my son, of all people? What have I done to offend the gods?I wailed while speeding to the hospital in the ambulance.My son was now unconscious, but was still breathing heavily.I said a silent prayer in my heart for him to survive this ordeal...
At the hospital, the paramedics put my son on a hospital bed and wheeled him into the operating theatre.My son turned his head to face me and for that instance I saw the recognition in his eyes,only to be extinguished by his agony.I ran after the strecher for a short distance, then waited outside the theatre, awaiting the fate of my son.All was in the hands of the gods now....
Little would I know that was the last time I would ever see my son....
"I'm sorry Mrs Tan,but he's gone...If you had brought him here a little earlier we could have saved him but now.....he's just too late....."
Why me? Why? Why?
